Many operators that build and operate PSM facilities per #OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 are experienced with conducting Process Hazard Analysis during the greenfield design of the facility…

The initial PHA effort can seem manageable when all documentation that is available is current before the facility is operated. Challenges arise when those operators must re-validate on a 5 year cycle to maintain compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119. Efforts to prepare for this can seem daunting when trying to gather all of the appropriate information to execute the re-validation. An article by AIChE – American Institute of Chemical Engineers frames some of the techniques to prepare for this effort so that the meeting can be conducted more efficiently. The SIGIT team has experience with helping operators prepare for this effort and if there are questions or upcoming PHAs that your team would like to discuss, please reach out to us.
